Week of March 27th
Our theme this year is "Wolfpack Strong." We believe that learning and growing together is the key to our success. Strength lies in the pack, and we will remember this theme throughout the year as we work cooperatively to be successful!

Rubik's cubes have become a big distraction in 5th grade. Please have your child leave it at home. They may only bring them to school on Fridays. Thank you for your help!

Field Trips to Bayou Bend
You can learn more about Bayou Bend at their website: https://www.mfah.org/visit/bayou-bend-collection-and-gardens/. If you click on “Collection” at the right, you will get an idea of the pieces our students will get to see and learn about.
No parent chaperones are needed for this trip, due to the large number of volunteers at Bayou Bend. We will be staying at Bayou Bend for the entire field trip, including lunch.
Please be sure your child brings a sack lunch that day and wears comfortable shoes.

Kindergarten Orientation
Please help us spread the word in your neighborhoods that Kindergarten Orientation is March 30th at 6:00 pm. Parents may bring their incoming Kinder students for 2017-18 to this special event. Students will be able to experience Kindergarten for a few minutes while parents gather info on what to expect for Kindergarten and how to register their child for next year.
Coins for Cops
One of our KISD police officers has an ongoing project to distribute Build a Bear Cop Bears to Special Needs students in KISD. He recently visited TWE Autism units and gave each student a bear. We would like to support his project at other schools and with new speciasl needs students in KISD. If you would like to contribute to this cause, please have your student bring a handful, ziploc or bag of coins to school on Friday, March 31st. Thank you!
PTA General Meeting and Summer Trade Show
Are you looking for summer programs for your children? If so, head to school on April 4, 2017, 6 - 7:30 PM! Your PTA will be hosting their first special Summer Activity Trade Show for TWE families and the local community. The trade show will be immediately following the general membership meeting. The Summer Trade Show will feature area businesses and nonprofit organizations who offer camps, enrichment and summer activities for children 4 & up!!
Howl-A-Palooza
Come join PTA for the spring carnival on April 7th. Pre-order your wristbands to enjoy unlimited games for $25. Wristbands will be $30 at the door. Come enjoy LED rock climbing, bungee, Robo surfer, Redneck games, and a 2 story Enchanted Castle and much, much more! If you are worried about dinner, you can purchase cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones, Chick-Fil-A, Kona Ice and Odd Ball Eats

Think Through Math:
This is a free, online math program that allows students to learn and practice to improve mathematics skills. By using Think Through Math on a regular basis, students will become better at problem-solving and computation. These are important skills for success on the STAAR test, 5th grade classroom work, and preparation for 6th grade math. Students access Think Through Math using their MyKatyCloud account.
