Important AP Exam Update
Technology Reminder
Please remind Students that Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) is no longer a policy at the Scituate School Department. With the accelerated implementation of 1:1 devices (due to COVID-19) Students should not be using any BYOD’s for any school work on the HS/MS Campus. This includes Phones, Laptops, Tablets and Mobile Hotspots (individual or via cell phones) unless they are a part of a specifically approved accommodation for that student. The Child Internet Protection Act (CIPA) requires that Students access to potentially harmful websites be filtered which we cannot do on personal devices.
Students need to be encouraged to utilize their SSD supplied devices for all school work as there are many school approved Apps and Extensions that are loaded and managed by the Tech Department. These controls help to prevent 3rd party Apps and extensions not approved from interfering with things like Google Meets and other programs like the newly implemented GoGaurdian. These tools are intended to help Staff with supporting teaching and learning especially in the Distance Learning environment we find ourselves in. They also allow the Tech department to better assist students with remote support when needed.
Thank you all for your attention in this matter

Advance Placement Update
Attention AP Students and Families:
Announcement from College Board: Remind students—especially seniors—that they need to indicate through My AP the college, university, or scholarship program they'd like to receive their free score report. Students indicate this information only through My AP. They no longer provide this information on their answer sheets. The deadline to indicate or change their free score report recipient through My AP is June 20.

Free Tutoring!
Free Tutoring Opportunity Launching with Schoolhouse.world
Schoolhouse.world is a new online platform from Sal Khan, the founder of Khan Academy, that matches students around the world with free tutors. The tutors provide small-group math and SAT prep tutoring for students in grades 6-12, building on the Khan Academy curriculum. Rhode Island is one of two state-level partnerships offering this opportunity to students across the state. Registration is now live on the All Course Network (ACN) and students can sign up here on EnrollRI. There is no deadline for students to sign up (though schools will still need to approve their enrollment via the ACN), no cost to LEAs or students, and no requirement to participate. Please help us spread the word to your students, teachers, parents, and communities! More information on the partnership can be found here.
