May 2021
Hello From Your Principal
Welcome to May!
Can you even believe that I am writing that? We're into the month of May. Wowzer!
With about eight weeks of school remaining, know that your teachers are working as hard as ever to connect with kids, engage kids, and take advantage of the weeks remaining in the year. Learning is still happening every day! Projects are happening. Reading Stampedes are upcoming. Virtual talent show is in the works, PE has moved outdoors, and the kids have been very active in the SmartLab.
Besides the good learning still happening, know that we have a fundraiser/Fund Run later this month. We'll fundraise beginning May 24 and we'll run out on the back playground June 4. Details are forthcoming from PTO.
Remember, state testing will not happen this spring. Next year's 4th and 5th graders will test in the fall, however.
A little note on Lost and Found. It’s piling up. Remind your kiddos to run by our bins and coat hanger. I would like to reunite those lost items with their rightful owners.
We value our home-to-school partnership. However you are involved with your kids’ school life, be active in it. Take interest and continue being a part of your child’s school experience. It is important for your young learner(s).
Happy spring,
Mr. Danford

Parent Input Forms
When it comes to classroom assignments for the fall, know that we are very methodical about our decision-making. Teachers, paraeducators, support staff, and administrators offer input. We then place data and information into our online class scheduler. After schedules are created, we peek again and make final decisions.
Know, too, that when it comes to placing children in classrooms for the fall, we take parent input. Parents do not choose teachers, although parent insights are helpful.
Parent input forms can be obtained at the office and turned in there between now and May 27. Class placement discussions will begin May 28.
