Student Leader Summit
Audience: Students
February 22-24, 2019Cape Cod
The Student Leader Summit is a weekend experience where student leaders can learn more about their personal leadership development as it relates to the Student Leadership Challenge. Students will participate in various activities that help them relate their experiences to the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership.
The Student Leader Summit is open to all members of student organizations, leadership programs, student employees of the OSILD, and those by special invitation. Cost is $10, $5 will be reimbursed when you board the bus.

Spring Emerge Program Application
Audience: Students
The Emerge Leadership Circle is a weekly workshop program held each semester to help students build their foundational leadership skills while developing a personal leadership philosophy.
By the conclusion of Emerge, participants should be able to:
- Define their personal leadership style
- Define leadership in their own terms
- Demonstrate effective public speaking
- Clarify their personal code of values
Emerge Leadership Circle is scheduled for Wednesdays from 4-6pm in the Student Center, South Room beginning February 6.

If interested in Emerge, you are invited to apply; students do not need to be nominated to participate. Applications are due Friday, December 14.
Emerge Leadership Philosophies
Student Leader | Maribel Mateo
Student Government Association President Maribel Mateo has persisted through many struggles as a first-generation student who didn't have it easy growing up. However, she has not only survived, but thrived as a Worcester State student, and she is determined to advocate for students so that they also thrive here on campus.
Faculty | Hardeep Sidhu
Assistant Professor of English Hardeep Sidhu, who was recently appointed Director of the Ethnic Studies program, discusses the importance of creating an inclusive campus environment both inside and outside the classroom.
Student Leader | Kate Surprenant
Kate Surprenant is a passionate leader. She is a feminist and believes you have to put your heart into the work that you do. Kate is doing just that in her many roles here on campus, including her position as Women's Basketball Captain. Kate took the time to share her beautiful perspective on leadership with us
