The Ganges River is an important river to India but it's facing a problem. The quantity of pollution the Ganges River has accumulated is dangerous and with people living on its shore it can have a terrible effect.

Causes
The causes to this pollution in the Ganges River include:
- Chemicals from farming/industry
- Human and animal waste
- Ceramated remains
Effects (for people living on it's shore)
The river is contaminated with diseases such as 0157:H7 otherwise known as E. coli. that is found in most of the river. Those who live at the river's shore are vulnerable to the diseases it contains.
