Mark your calendars now for Chippewa Middle School’s Welcome Back Day Celebration scheduled for Thursday, August 22nd from 2:00 to 7:00 PM. Teachers will be here from 4:00-7:00 PM. Young Innovators Camp
Young Innovators Camp is a super fun, week-long summer program for kids to develop their leadership and entrepreneurial skills, while creating a functional app prototype to solve a problem that they identify and are passionate about. This is the first time that Future Design School has made this experience available in the Twin Cities.

Call for actors
Turing Tumble is seeking actors from 6th-10th grade to audition for an educational instruction video that will be used in classrooms. The video will help students understand how to use the Turing Tumble game where players build mechanical computers powered by marbles to solve logic puzzles. Auditions are 6- 8 p.m. on May 22 at the Shoreview Community Center. If your student plans to attend, please contact anna@turingtumble.com or 651-226-5498 in advance. Attention perspective cross country parents and athletes:
The Mounds View School District now has a 7-12 girls’ cross country program at the high schools. Highview and Chippewa students are welcome to participate at Mounds View. Buses are offered at Chippewa and Highview to MVHS after school.
Summer running starts June 10th. We highly encourage all runners to come as much as they can over the summer. The official training season at the high school begins on Monday, Aug. 12th, but registration will be open beyond that. If you are out of town, or need to complete necessary paperwork, it will not be an issue. All runners must also have a recent physical:

MV GIRLS GOLF FLAMINGO FLOCKING FUNdraiser:
The MVHS girls’ golf team announces the return of this ever-so-popular summer FUNdraiser. We will be taking orders to flock friends, neighbors, family members, or the victim of your choice with a yard full of pink flamingos. For $30, this is a great way to say Congratulations, Best Wishes, Happy Birthday/Anniversary, or just to have fun! We will begin flocking on Monday, 6/10. MVHS Boys Soccer
Mounds View Boys Soccer welcomes incoming Freshman to our program. We will field a full Freshman squad. Please be aware Mustang Soccer Camp is July 22-25. Captain’s practice will start the week of July 29. Team tryouts will begin August 12.

Summer Band sign ups are here students who are currently enrolled in grades 4-8 have the opportunity to participate in the Summer Band program. Classes run from July 8-August 1, Mondays-Thursdays.
SUMMER GLEE CLUB
Looking for something fun to do this summer ...... sign up for GLEE Club.
Summer GLEE Club is opened to 6th, 7th & 8th graders.
You will learn songs & dances during the weekly practice & and finish up with a concert on Friday night.

Orchestra Notes - Summer Orchestra
Mark your calendars! Students who are currently enrolled in grades 3-5 have the opportunity to participate in the District 621 Summer Orchestra program. The dates are July 8-August 1, Mondays-Thursdays. Classes are 50 minutes and they are scheduled at various locations across the district, starting as early as 7am or as late as 7pm. Registration materials will be shared with families soon.
There is also a middle school camp available for students entering grades 7-8 in 2019-2020.
