Fox Family Focus

Week of October 3, 2021

Greetings Fox Families!

This is Anita Roane, your principal with this week’s announcements and reminders. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! It's hard to believe it's October already.

The PTA has a fun challenge going on! The top 3 classes with the most memberships win Dens of Determination points for each student and the teacher! Help your fox's den get ahead and support the school at the same time. Currently, the top 3 classes are Ms.Taylor in 1st place and Mrs. Toimil in 2nd place. However, third place is close. Ms. Nelson, Ms. Franke, and Mrs. Walton are tied for 3rd place. The contest ends on October 15th. Send in your $5.00 before the 15th and don't forget to place your student's name, your name, and the classroom teacher's name on the envelope before placing it into the fox folder. 1st place gets 5 points for everyone, 2nd place gets 3 points for everyone and 3rd place gets 1 point for everyone.

Be sure to watch the video that was sent out with the breakdown of all of our wonderful acts of kindness being planned for the month of October. We think Kind is Cool! That's how we do it!

October's Foxy Focus

The Foxy Focus for October is Kindness.

The students hear the following statement on the announcements each morning and are encouraged to incorporate it into their daily habits.

Kindness is being a friendly and caring person who wants others to succeed. Kind friends have positive attitudes and do nice things for people around them. Since it is National Bullying Awareness Month and LCPS Kindness Month, the goal is to show kindness and appreciate others for who they are inside.

Congratulations Mr. Staples!

We are so proud of Mr. Staples! He was awarded the TeamLCPS Certified MVP last week. Mr. Staples is a first year teacher and he is doing an amazing job!

Enjoying the Outdoor Classroom!

The autism teachers made an apple orchard in our outdoor classroom last week. The students enjoyed themselves! There was plenty to do: apple picking, apple volcanos, apple painting, apple bobbing with tongs, and more! It was a great day for outdoor learning!

Jumanji Escape Room Fun!

The fourth-grade students worked hard on their activities to escape and complete their tasks last week. They were quite the adventurers with their binoculars and magnifying glasses!
