Simply Impressive...

Dear HMS Parents,

GCISD is the B.E.S.T

With the help and flexibility of the students and teachers, our GCISD Technology Department have distributed over 860 laptops. This is incredible. We are fortunate to be in a school community which understands the necessity of teaching our students for the future.

As I've stated many times, the process and responsibility for student laptops will continue to evolve as we look for opportunities to improve. If there is ever a time you have a question or concern, please do not hesitate to contact me.

We are thankful for your support!

Regards,

Scott Saettel, Principal

Heritage Middle School

Reminder About After School Events

We would like to remind parents and students the expectations when attending an extracurricular event as a spectator. School behavior is expected by students regardless whether it is during a school day or at a school function. If students are unable to act respectful, they will be asked to leave the event. Please talk with your students about this expectation.

6th Grade Health Lessons

As a reminder, the 6th graders will have a special presentation from the Women's Center of Tarrant County next Friday, February 5th. The presentation entitled "Survivors of Abuse" is a part of the ongoing "Play It Safe" series that students participate in throughout elementary and middle school. Any parent wishing to withhold their student from this presentation needs to submit a form to the counseling office ahead of time if you have not already done so. They may be found on the GCISD website at or copies will be made available in the front office.

2016-2017 Cheerleader/Mascot Tryouts

There is a mandatory student/parent information meeting on Tuesday, February 9 at 7:15 PM in the HMS Lecture Hall. Candidate information packets will be distributed to parents at this time. The packets include the forms each student must turn in to be eligible to tryout, a copy of the constitution, and the judge’s score sheet. Parents who are absent from the meeting will need to contact Coach Coffey to get the required information. Packets will not be handed to students unless his/her parent has spoken with Coach Coffey.
