Halfway Done? Impossible!
Next Friday Marks End of the 2nd 9 Weeks
Midyears on the Horizon
As we are rapidly approaching the midpoint of the year, we have two different midyear examinations that we will all be taking. Next week on Tuesday and Wednesday, we will have our math midyear. We hold it over two days to simulate our math SOL scenario. This will be a cumulative assessment and will count as part of your child's grade.
On Wednesday January 24th and Thursday January 25th we will hold our reading midyear. This is a countywide assessment and will NOT count as part of your child's grade. This midyear is actually based on what students should know by the END of fourth grade.
Country Research Projects
Begining next Tuesday we will have our country research project presentations. Students will be able to sign up tomorrow. I want to stress that this project is similar to the biography project in that it is a student project. This is especially true of your child chooses to bring in a food. If they choose to cook a dish from their country, they need to research it and be the main chef. In addition, just like the biography project, the students need to present about their country as well, not just share their visual aid.
Mr. Foreman Out Thursday and Friday
The children have known it for a week or so, but I will not be in school on Thursday or Friday. We do have a confirmed substitute. If you need to get a note to the office, please call or send it to the office staff.
Congratulations to Aydan and Maegan!
In a first this year we have a tie for the honor to represent the class in the schoolwide Spelling Bee. Maegan Sandridge and Aydan Shahbazli will be on the Bee on January 18th. Well done ladies!
