Smith, who was clinician for the high school honor band. The Honor Band experience was culminated by a public concert before a standing-room-only audience at the Union County High School. Ft. White Elementary turned in the program, Literacy Family Night Treasure Hunt. They had over 300 parents and students grab a treasure map and participate. Students and parents completed an activity at each stop on the map including literacy activities. After their exhausting trek, they were treated with finger foods and a book to take home!
Columbia High School turned in the program, Project UNISON. They are serving all students in this program by partnering with colleges to assist with career exploration, financial aid, and enrollment. Project UNISON is also helping to foster a supportive environment and get more parents involved. Within Project UNISON, all 9th graders participate in a BARR program that helps them address nonacademic barriers they may encounter in high school.
Congrats FWES and CHS for representing our district with your innovative Family and Community Involvement programs!
