A Note from the Nurse

We work hard each and every day to keep our students safe and healthy at school. We ask that you do your part as well. Please evaluate your child each day and DO NOT send them to school if they exhibit symptoms of illness, including fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, sore throat, cough, or runny nose.

The best way to contact the school regarding any absence is to call the district attendance line- 513-686-1707.

Feel free to contact our nurse, Julie Ferron, if you have any questions!

ferronj@sycamoreschools.org or 513-686-1743.

PBIS Corner

We are buzzing around Symmes this week teaching our students about the “4 Be’s” of PBIS, which stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. This framework creates a school environment that is positive, predictable, safe, and equitable. When students demonstrate the expected behavior, they receive explicit praise from the teacher and earn a Bee Buck, our digital, school-wide acknowledgment system. Today, students participated in a grade level assembly with Mrs. Ralston and Ms. Chambers to show off their knowledge of the 4 Be’s. Students had lots of fun seeing Mrs. Ralston and Ms. Chambers demonstrate expected and unexpected behaviors and reviewing how to be respectful, responsible, safe, and a problem solver at school.

At-home follow-up:

  • What was something Mrs. Raston or Mrs. Chambers did at the assembly?

  • Tell me the 4 Be’s at school.

  • Do you remember the PBIS Chant Mrs. Bethune taught you? PBIS Chant
