Balanced Assessment System
Using Multiple Measures to Inform Teaching & Learning
Balanced Assessment
"To support learning, assessment must evolve from being isolated events to becoming events that happen in an ongoing series so as to reveal patterns in student learning over time." R Stiggins, 2006
Using multiple measures of assessing student learning has never been more important. This session will outline a comprehensive balanced assessment system (summative, interim, and formative process). In group discussion and reflection, each component will be explored for purpose and the importance of using assessment evidence to inform individual, classroom, and building/district decisions.
