Holy Family Updates
April 18,2023
Dear HFRCS Families,
It is our first full week back from Easter Break and it’s an exciting one. We have already had 2 field trips and we are getting ready for Spirit Week!
This past Monday, 4/17/23, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade went on a field trip to the Camden Aquarium. This was the first field trip for some of our students as COVID prevented us from traveling outside the school building. It was a huge success and we need to thank our teachers for planning an amazing trip and also our families who chaperoned made the experience that much better.
Kindergarten also went to the Aston Library and then the park at the Aston Community Center. Another big shoutout and thank you to the teachers and families who made this experience possible for our students.
We have our monthly mass tomorrow at 9:30am in St. Joe’s Church. All are welcome to attend. 2nd grade will be doing the readings and presenting the gifts.
The play's the thing! Raise Your Voice Show is this weekend. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7:00pm and then Sunday at 4:00pm. Cash only snacks and candy grams for the cast. Purchase tickets at the link below.

We will be sending information regarding Spirit Week very soon so stay tuned for the logistics of next week. It culminates with our Spirit Stroll on Friday, April 28th. We have even more Holy Family information below.
As always, thank you for your support and dedication to Holy Family and catholic education. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Mr. Elia
May Procession
The May Procession is sneaking up on us. It is at 9:30am on Monday, May 1st. It is also our monthly mass with an early dismissal. As always, all of our families are welcome to attend, especially our 8th grade families as this is the first big event for their graduation.
Scholasitc Book Fair
If you do not want to send your child(ren) to school with cash, you can set up an ewallet account here. This is ABSOLUTELY the easiest and most preferred way for all to shop.
To set up an eWallet you can either:
1. Click on the link on our book fair homepage under the Before the Fair section.
https://www.scholastic.com/bf/holyfamilyregionalcatholicschool
OR
2. Use this direct link https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/content/fairs/how-ewallet-works.html?fairId=5279171
***Any balances left on the ewallet WILL NOT be credited back to their credit card account but can be spent at future fairs or anytime at the Scholastic Online Store.
NO BAGS: In an effort to go green, Scholastic is not providing consumables in the form of decorations, tablecloths, or bags this year. Please ask your students to bring in their own paper bag or reusable tote to carry home their purchases.
Lastly, all purchases will be subject to 6% sales tax.
Pie in Mr. Elia’s Face
Have you ever been frustrated with me? Ever wish you could throw something at me? Well, now is your chance!!!!! We are selling chances for $1 to throw a pie in my face and raise money for our school. The student who buys the most chances, along with an adult of their choice, gets to toss a pie at me. We will also choose 3 random winners from the chances to throw a pie at me! They, too, get to pick an adult to throw a pie. Chances are already up on Blackbaud and we are accepting cash as well. If sending cash, please make sure the money is in an envelope with your child’s name on it. Chances will be available up until 9am Thursday, May 11th. We will draw the names on that Thursday and then do the “pieing” at 1:45pm Friday, May 12th. The winners and their adults will throw the pies at me on the 12th, so be prepared if you are our lucky winner!! The classroom that buys the most chances gets an afternoon at the park with a treat and a dress down too!!!! It all goes to a good cause and we have some fun at the same time!!!! Now the only question is, who wants to pie me?????
- Teagan Ciacciatore was presented with the Light of Christ Emblem.
- Joseph Ciacciatore (not pictured) was awarded the Parvuli Dei Emblem.
- Christopher Kolody, Nicholas McDermond and Benjamin Peterson were presented with the Ad Altare Dei Emblem.
- Troop 225 was honored with the Pope Paul VI Unit Award.
Congratulations!
Congratulations to Matthew Adam and Ian Calise for being chosen for the Northeastern Music Programs Honor Band. The members were chosen by teacher recommendations from schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. The concert will take place at Mother of Providence Regional Catholic School on Saturday, April 22.
COVID Policy Reminder
At Holy Family, our number one priority will always be the safety of our students, staff, and families. We have seen an increase number of positive cases among students the last three days. Nothing to panic about, but we must make sure we are following proper protocols and taking necessary precautions. If we do not work together, we may be facing a mask mandate and/or possible virtual days if the numbers continue to rise.
As a reminder, our COVID Policy is below. So, please make sure you monitor for symptoms.
Everyone will follow the same procedures regardless of their vaccination status.
If you are exposed to someone who is positive with COVID-19
- There is no quarantine period, but masks will be strongly recommended.
If you live with a person(s) who has tested positive for COVID-19
- There is no quarantine period, but masks will be required. The length of time will be confirmed by Nurse Victoria.
If you test positive for COVID-19
- You must contact Nurse Victoria immediately. You will isolate for at least 5 days and be able to return after that time period if you are free of fever and your overall symptoms have improved. Nurse Victoria will confirm your return date and when you will be able to return to being mask optional.
Please do not hesitate to contact myself or Nurse Victoria if you have any questions or concerns.
