NTZB Parent Bulletin

March 4, 2022

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Hello New Tech Families,

Today marked the end of Quarter 3! It is hard to believe we are in the month of March and planning for the next school year is already in progress! Parent feedback and opinions are always valued, so I ask that you please consider completing the 5Essentials Parent Survey found on this bulletin. The survey will ask you to identify as a New Tech parent, therefore providing direct input for our school and planning. We are currently two weeks out from spring break and as the weather will be getting warmer, students may catch a little “spring fever!” We encourage you to continue supporting your students to attend school every day, complete assignments on time, and remain focused on their future. As we are now in the fourth quarter, be sure to monitor our new website for information and details regarding end of the year events. As always, I look forward to creating more great days for our students and staff!

In partnership,

Bonnie Felske

THEATRE IN OUR SCHOOLS WEEK

Did you know that students who took four years of arts classes in high school scored an average of 92 points higher on their SATs than students who only took one half year or less? (The College Board, 2016)

Theatre skills help students develop vital 21st-century skills like communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking, as well as social/emotional skills critical to students’ growth as young adults. Watch the video below and hear why these ZB Encore Players love theatre!

THE ILLINOIS YOUTH SURVEY IS COMING SOON

Big picture

The Illinois Youth Survey is completely anonymous. Healthy YOUth will use the results from the survey to create campaigns at school to educate our students on the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Look for the opt-out parent letters being mailed home if you do not wish for your child to participate. They should be returned to the New Tech Main Office by March 14th.

Questions about the survey or your child's participation can be directed to Ms. Ruggles at RugglesM@ntzb.org, sponsor of New Tech's Healthy YOUth.
