Secondary Reading League

Leaders for Literacy in Grades 6-12

March 2017

Message from the President

It may not feel like it yet in all parts of Illinois, but spring is here! With it comes PARCC and SAT testing, National Poetry Month, and the countdown to the end of the year. For SRL, spring means our annual YA Book Talks & Pizza Dinner, Executive Board elections, and planning for next year.

Each year that I have served on the board, one of our frequent topics of discussion is how to bring value to you, our members. For next year, we are looking at expanding our programming in order to bring experts on secondary literacy to the membership. We would love your input! If you have an idea for programming or an article to submit for a future newsletter, please do not hesitate to contact me at srl@illinoisreadingcouncil.org.
