Benjamin Franklin was one of the founding fathers of the united states and in many ways was "the First American". A world famous poly math, Franklin was a leading author, printer, politician, postmaster, scientist, inventor, civic activist, statesman, and diplomat.As a scientist, he was a major figure in the american enlightenment and the history of physics for his discoveries and theories regarding electricity. As an inventor, he is known for the lightning rod, bifocals, and the Franklin stove, among other inventions. Ben stands alone as the only person to have signed all four of the documents which helped to create the United States: the deceleration of Independence, the Treaty of Alliance, Amity, and Commerce with France, the Treaty of Peace between England, France, and the United States , and the constitution . He actually helped to write parts of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. No other individual was more involved in the birth of our nation
