Copeland PBIS
November 2023
This month the focus is on generosity. We are working with our students on being respectful through their generous actions and what generosity looks like in our classroom, building, and throughout our community. Our students are learning generosity means a willingness to give. In the classroom, or our building, students can show this by giving their time to help another student with understanding an assignment or skill, help a classmate clean up a mess, or help a teacher when needed. Throughout our building, students can show generosity by helping a friend, cleaning up, being kind, or giving respect by being mindful of others. Please have conversations with your child about how they demonstrate generosity at Copeland, home, and in the community. We are so proud of our Colts for showing they CARE by:
Being Consistent
Being Accountable
Being Respectful
Being Engaged
We appreciate your support in our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports in our school.
Matrix
We have created a matrix that explains our school wide behavior expectations. You will see these rules posted throughout our school. Your child learned these expectations the first week of school. Below is a copy of our school’s PBIS matrix.
School Wide Incentive
Second Grading Period
Our incentive for the second grading period is going to be bingo. Your child can purchase this for 30 CARE cash/Dojo points if they choose to participate. This will be held on January 19th at 8:30 AM. Your child can purchase this from their homeroom teacher.
🌴 Beach Bash Reminder 🌴
Your child can also save up to purchase our end of year Beach Bash. This will cost 100 CARE cash/Dojo points. Students will be using financial literacy to make decisions about monthly purchases. They will be able to decide if they want to save for Beach Bash first, or make monthly purchases while saving the rest of their CARE cash to go towards the end of year event. Beach Bash is an activity that will happen in May, and will take place during your child’s PE time on the specified day. If your child does not save enough CARE cash/Dojo points OR chooses not to purchase Beach Bash, they will have an alternate activity to participate in during their music or art classes on this particular day.
