M-STEP Testing

Royal Oak Students will be taking the M-Step (Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress) beginning in mid-April. Testing dates and times are no longer uniform across the state. Instead, Michigan has identified April 13th through June 5th as the window between which tests can be administered. You will receive a letter with specific testing dates and times for each grade level in the near future. The M-Step will be given online and will measure current student knowledge. In past years, grades 3-8 assessments were given in the fall and measured a student’s knowledge from the previous year. The M-STEP will assess student learning on Michigan’s standards in Mathematics, English Language Arts (ELA), Science, and Social Studies.

Students in Grade 3 will take Mathematics & English Language Arts

Students in Grade 4 will take Mathematics, English Language Arts & Science

Students in Grade 5 will take Mathematics, English Language Arts & Social Studies

It is important that every student take these tests and demonstrates his or her best effort. As always, please make sure your child gets plenty of rest, eats breakfast, and attends school on time on a regular basis.

Have a wonderful Spring Break!
