Open Enrollment and Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten Registration is on Thursday, February 14th. Registration times are 11:30-1:30 and 6:00-7:30. Open enrollment for kindergarten will run February 14th through February 21st.
Since hat/coat weather and flu season is fast approaching, here are some recommendations in dealing with some important health issues. Please discuss with your children the importance of washing their hands often. This will help in the reduction of illness at school and home. If your child is sick and coughing or sneezing, be sure to review the use of tissues and washing hands or hand sanitizer afterwards.
Head lice screenings in the home are recommended as part of routine personal hygiene and will help identify an early, treatable condition. If you identify that your child has lice, please treat as soon as possible. The child must be brought back to school by a parent when lice treatment is completed (usually by the next day). The child will be checked by school staff and cleared to return to the classroom or provide further assistance. We appreciate your cooperation as we work together to maintain a healthy environment for learning. If you need any additional information, please contact the school nurse.
Now that the weather has turned cold, please be sure that your child is wearing a coat each day. Classes will go outside for recess unless the temperature drops down below 38 degrees. If your child does not have a coat, please contact Sally Fortney at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Importance of Good Attendance
Just a friendly reminder. All families only want what is best for their children. When planning trips, please remember even one missed day at school impacts your child’s academic progress. Please continue to be aware of the school calendar when planning vacations around holidays and only keep your child home from school when it is absolutely necessary. Making up missed assignments after an absence cannot replace the high quality classroom instruction your child receives everyday as a student in the Kenton County School District. Every day counts when it comes to your child. Please continue to support your child’s education by only allowing your child to miss school if it is absolutely necessary.

Relatives Raising Relatives: Are you raising a child who is a relative (i.e. grandchild, niece, nephew, sibling, etc.) and sometimes wonder where you could receive some support? Do you know someone who is raising a child who is a relative and they have asked you where to turn for support? If you answered yes to these questions, this luncheon is for you!
Meetings are once a month from Noon until 1:00 pm at the Kenton County Library – Erlanger Branch.

Grayson is always helping his classmates. He is comforting to his peers and includes others when they don't have someone to play with at recess. In the classroom, if there is someone who drops something, Grayson is the first to be there to help pick things up. What a great citizen he is!
Ms. Carskadon has gone above and beyond in her new role as one of our kindergarten teachers. She consistently has a positive attitude and welcomes all challenges with a smile on her face.
Tommy always gives his best in class. Not only does he have a growth mindset, he consistently encourages and celebrates others successes. His positive attitude is contagious to all those around him.
