Registration for rising 7th, 8th, 9th grade for parents and students is

March 8th - March 12th

Your child's counselor will contact you for more information.

High School 4-year plans and career assessments will be done with all 8th graders with their Counselor, Ms. Martin.

Sleep Awareness Week is March 14 - 20, 2021

Sleep plays an essential role physical and mental health. A proper amount of sleep has been known to lower your risk of heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes, obesity and Alzheimer’s. It also keeps your energy level up, improves your mood, and fights off anxiety and depression.

Making Sense of the Learning Schedule

Face to Face Learners: Your child should be logging into Canvas the three days they are not on campus for announcements and teacher lessons.

Remote Learners: Logging into Canvas daily for live sessions as well as assignments is critical.

Check-In With Your Child

This past year has been one with many changes in routines, loss of safety and security, and loss of social connections. We recommend having frequent conversations with your child to check-in on their emotions and coping. Some good conversation starters include:

1- What has helped you the most to cope with the changes brought about by COVID-19?

2- How can I help you at home?

3- Is there anything you need?

4- Are you worried about anything?

5- I really am proud of how you have _____________ during the time at home.

Recognize that their fear and concern is normal, you may even share the same concerns. Make sure you reinforce safety procedures and preventive actions (Wash hands, Wear a Mask, and Wait 6 feet apart). Discuss ways to keep your child connected such as video chats, family game nights, and outdoor exercise when possible.

What PARENTS can do if THEY feel overwhelmed

Big picture

1- Walk away: Take time to cool off and think about how you want to respond.

2- Think about what worries or upsets you: You are human and have your own experiences that make certain situations difficult, easy or somewhere in between. Give yourself grace.

3-Practice meditation: Don't wait until you are in a stressful situation, practice when you can start from a calm position.

4-Positive Self-Talk: YOU CAN DO THIS!

5-Pay attention to people who bring you energy: Connect with those people often.

6-Consult your professional circle: If you find yourself feeling consistently overwhelmed or troubled, it may be time to seek professional help.
