#helloyellow in support of Young Minds
Thank you to everyone who supported our #helloyellow day last Friday. Between ourselves and Monk Fryston Primary School we raised a whopping £389 which is amazing. Thank you for your continued support.
Volunteers
We would like to welcome volunteers back into school after half term. If you would like to volunteer, please notify the office and ensure that a new DBS has been applied for.
FOSS Halloween Bake-Off
FOSS are having a Halloween Bake-off during half term. Children are invited to decorate a cake/buns, pay £1 and enter a photo of their creation by sending it to school or a member of FOSS. We will put the photos on our Facebook page and the best entries will win a prize. Please note that we are not having a pumpkin carving competition this year as this is being done by the catering service.
Amazon Smile
Don’t forget that if you use Amazon Smile and have registered our school for donations, FOSS will receive a donation. This is a very quick and easy way to make money for our children, so please do remember to keep checking that your orders have been placed this way.
Behaviour
As you know, we maintain high standards of behaviour in school and are very proud of our children. At times, though, things don’t go right and children fall out. We deal with this restoratively and help children to get along again. In rare instances this term, children have deliberately hurt each other. This is now classed as ‘peer-on-peer abuse’ and cannot be tolerated. If your child has been found to abuse anyone else we will implement sanctions and would greatly appreciate your support in reinforcing the seriousness of their behaviour.
Our Place
North Yorkshire County Council have PRE-PAID for every parent and carer in North Yorkshire to access a course for parents/carers (access now for life-long access)
FREE (with access code: NYFAMILIES at: www.inourplace.co.uk) for residents in our area. With half term coming up and winter approaching, it might be a good time to engage with new ideas.
Eco Warriors
We are incredibly proud of our Eco Warriors. They have been notified that they have successfully achieved the Green Flag status from Eco Schools. This is an amazing achievement! We are now having a flag pole erected so that we can display our new flag.
School Lunches
Please see the Autumn Lunch menu below, next week we will be on Week 1 of the menu.
Children can decide daily whether they are having a school dinner or packed lunch.
Please ensure you discuss the menu each day with your child so they can decide what they would like to order. Once they know their choices, they will choose this each morning with their teacher during registration.
Each day there are now 4 choices, either the hot dinner, hot vegetarian option, jacket potato with a choice of toppings or a sandwich. The sandwich and jacket potato always come with a selection of vegetables/salad on the side and have the full pudding choice for that day.
Car Parking reminder
Please be considerate when parking near the school crossing. If parked too close it can be very difficult to see if it is safe to cross, particularly at pick up time-thank you.
ParentPay
Please
click here to be re-directed to ParentPay, where you can pay for lunches and other school related items.
