Social Studies:
- I am so proud of this 5th grade group! The mock trials went very well, and I was so impressed with all of the information they presented and how they conducted their court rooms. :) Our Judges, Hattie (Blackman Homeroom), and Hank (Schluter Homeroom), did a very nice job with the help of their bailiffs, Derek (Blackman homeroom), and Cooper (Schluter homeroom), of keeping their court rooms in check! Below are some awesome pictures of our mock trial.
The students will continue researching key figures that helped write and participated in the Declaration of Independence. They will include facts such as, date of birth, key position the individual held, what influence they had on the independence, etc. They will be creating a Smore flyer, much like the one Thomas Paine wrote, persuading others to side with freedom. This will take us into the new year!
