Organization Corner
We are now offering a place for students to get organized. The Organizational Corner meets on Thursday mornings 7:50-8:20 in room J101. There are student volunteers and teachers available to help students get their binder and agenda organized so they can focus on succeeding in class. Any student who would like to be better organized is welcome. If you have any questions, please contact Kathleen Good.
Sixth grade students are having their binders checked by an AVID student to motivate them to keep organized in middle school. The AVID students check binders on Thursdays in 4th period classes. The sixth graders already earned a pajama pant day on Thursday Oct 8. Keep encouraging your students to maintain an organized binder and agenda!
Homework Hot Spot
The Homework Hot Spot (HHS) is available every Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 7:50 – 8:20 in D- 111. Because we want this area to be structured and organized, we will be limiting the number of peer tutors – as well as the number of students coming in for assistance. We anticipate the ability to house about 10 tutors and 30-35 students for the HHS. We want our parents to know that this service is available. The HHS is not a replacement for teacher-led, subject-specific tutorials, but it is another way for students to ensure their success. Please encourage your child to utilize this additional
layer of academic support whenever they’re feeling stressed or unsure.
