HISTORY
Stonehenge is a mysterious circle of very large stones. The Stonehenge was split into 3 building times. STONEHENGE 1 The Neolithic people started building it. It is 320 feet in diameter, and 7 feet deep. Stonehenge seems to be used for about 500 years, then abandoned. STONEHENGE 2 Building the Stonehenge 2 began around 2,100 B.C. STONEHENGE 3 Stonehenge 3 is a visible circle made of stones. This building period began around 2,000 B.C. The stones weigh about 50 tons each. Inside of this circle was an erection. The stones on the inside of the circle, are in the shape of a horseshoe.
RELIGION
Many groups, such as the Pagan and Druids believe that the Stonehenge was used for rites and ceremonies.
WHY IS IT SACRED?
Many people think that the Stonehenge was used for a burial ground many years ago, for over 300 people.
