Summer Reading at Cedar Mill!
Be sure to sign your child up for summer reading at Cedar Mill. It can be done online now. See below for more information.
All age groups can sign up for the Cedar Mill Community Libraries’ Summer Reading Program now!
The Cedar Mill Community Library and the Cedar Mill Community Library @ Bethany are hosting a Summer Reading Program and all ages are welcome to join. Register for summer reading online at https://librarycedarmill.beanstack.org/reader365 or come to the library starting June 1st to sign up. Pre-readers can count times they are read to, and school aged readers and adults can read 5 (or more) hours to complete the summer reading program. If it can be read, it counts! Enjoy being read to, reading on your own, or listening to audiobooks. Adults can participate too! Check with your librarian if you need ideas. Ages birth to 18 can earn a free book.
Why Summer Reading?
Research has shown that public library summer reading programs enhance student achievement and improve reading and comprehension skills. It’s also a chance for kids to read for enjoyment, and participate in free library activities that support learning and family fun.
Introducing Beanstack Beanstack is an online service for tracking reading while earning badges and incentives for summer reading and future reading programs. To get started with Beanstack, you will need to create an account, log in, and then available programs will appear with the option for you to join and participate. To create a Beanstack account for yourself and/or your children, go to https://librarycedarmill.beanstack.org/reader365 and then click on the green button labeled “Register an Individual or Family.” Programs are offered based on the age of the reader.
I will drop off summer reading bookmarks this week. They will have your name on it and be in bundles of 30. They have online signup information which is now open for registration. Additional information may be found here:https://library.cedarmill.org/summer-reading/kids/
Thank you for supporting summer reading!
