It was another fantastic week to be a Homestead Husky! Veterans Day is tomorrow and there is no school. Thank you to all our Homestead Veteran parents and staff both past and present. Thank you for your sacrifice for our freedom!
CRAFT CLUB
Craft club kicked off on Wednesday with over 60 members from kindergarten, first, and second grades! This week in craft club students made Thankful Trees.
BASKETBALL CLUB
Record numbers showed up for basketball club this week and worked through 2 on 1 drills. Thanks to Coach Payne and Mr. Noyes for hosting and making basketball club such a hit!
SLC
Student Leadership Council is an amazing group of 60 4th, 5th, and 6th graders, with a goal of increasing school spirit and completing community service. This week SLC students worked on blankets to deliver to the shelter, planned the December movie night, and prepared for the Penny War.
CANNED FOOD DRIVE
FOOD FIGHT!
Start getting those donations ready for the canned food drive as our competitor, Ravenwood, recorded some big numbers collecting 1,875 pounds of food. Fire Lake is currently collecting donations and we are excited to hear how many pounds of food they collect.
The Food Fight at Homestead runs from December 5 - December 15, 2022.
PENNY WAR
It's time again for the Annual Penny War! This year SLC voted to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Hospital. The Penny war starts November 14th, and the winning grade level will receive an ice cream party courtesy of SLC.
MOVIE NIGHT
Movie night is December 16, 2022, so mark your calendars. SLC voted and the movie being shown is The Grinch! More details will be released in the coming weeks.
PE WITH PAYNE
Students played ultimate basketball keep-a-way this week in PE, incorporating the skills they learned last week during basketball week.
HEALTH
This week in health students K -6th learned about nutrition with Mrs. Troup and building a well balanced plate.
PRINCIPAL 200 CLUB
The Principal 200 Club received 20 new members this morning! We are getting close to filling a row on the Principal 200 Chart which is big news for 15 students who will partake in a super fun activity with Mrs. Kahler. Keep up the good work, Huskies!
