On October 21st we recognized our diversity, but celebrated our unity on national unity day!

Together Make it Orange and Make it End!

What are your true colors when it comes to showing that you believe that all youth should be safe from bullying? We came together on Wednesday in one giant ORANGE message of hope and support, to WEAR AND SHARE ORANGE to color our nation, and even the world, visibly showing that our society believes that no child should ever experience bullying.

Fourth Grade Invasion from Mars

The Fourth graders’ Journeys story was Invasion from Mars. After reading the story, they created their own UFO’s. Thanks for your STEM donations.... it really helps!

Pandemic Fatigue and Staying Safe

As the pandemic enters its ninth month, we’re all suffering from pandemic fatigue. To protect our loved ones, our students, and ourselves, we must continue to stay focused. In this video, Dr. Lisa Maragakis and Dean Paul Rothman discuss 4 keys to staying safe.

Fighting Pandemic Fatigue and Staying Safe: A Conversation with Paul Rothman and Lisa Maragakis

Thank you for your commitment to the health and safety of our entire school community...

The safety of our students, families, faculty, and staff remain our top priority. Last week, the Southern Nevada Health District completed a COVID compliance inspection. We were highly commended on our safe return to school plan, social distancing compliance, disinfecting/sanitation/hygiene practices, temperature checks, face covering mandates, parent screening tool, and adherence to Diocesan protocols.

We continue to follow all protocols from the CDC, the Southern Nevada Health District, and the Diocesan Restoration Council, including strict adherence to social distancing, hygiene, sanitizing, temperature checks, and the wearing of masks.

While pandemic fatigue tries to encourage us to go back to normal routines, we also urge our families to be vigilant regarding all health recommendations at home and particularly with respect to social gatherings. Thank you for your continued support!

A Gentle Reminder From our Bookkeeper

Report cards go out on Friday, November 13th. If your school account is not current, your child’s report card will be held until such time as it is caught up.

Common Sense Media review of HOOP App

Parents need to know that Hoop. is an app that connects with Snapchat to allow users to "make new connections" -- in other words, meet strangers. Teens link their Snap profiles and enter personal details (age and gender) and choose a few pictures to feature. Then they review images of other users, choosing to "X" those they are not interested in or requesting Snap info for those they are. On the flip side, others are reviewing their profile and sending requests to add them on Snap as well. Just as with Snapchat streaks, users earn points and gems for activity, like giving out their Snap and logging in daily or viewing videos or taking surveys. The profiles shown are a mix of genders and close in age to that entered when creating a profile, but there's no birth date verification. There's no specific privacy policy, though it seems to be rolled into the terms of service. Read the developer's policy for details on how your (or your kids') information is collected, used, and shared and any choices you may have in the matter, and note that privacy policies and terms of service frequently change.

Talk to your kids about ...

  • Families can talk about safe ways to meet new people other than apps like Hoop.

  • What are your family's expectations about adding followers on social media? Do you have to have mutual friends? Should you have met in person?

  • What are your family's expectations for sharing personal information or photos with unknown followers?

This student is a faith-filled Catholic who truly tries to live each day as Jesus did, as he continuously demonstrates a spirit of service, especially as it relates to our special Micah students. He also loves to learn, which is obvious in his participation in all of his classes. He adds so much to class discussions, and he is quite thoughtful and introspective in the way that he responds! He has tremendous respect for others and is a peacemaker in our recreational activities; always making sure that everyone has had a turn.

This student is our Good Samaritan because she shows that she is aware of those around her and their feelings. She takes responsibility for her actions and will step up in a difficult situation. She cares for all God's creation and we see the holiness within her through her actions.
