Georgia Milestones Testing
For 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade Students
Dear Parents,
Students in grades three through five will be administered the Georgia Milestones End-of-Grade (EOG) Assessment beginning Monday, April 16, 2018. The purpose of the Georgia Milestones EOG is to measure student achievement of the state-adopted content standards and inform efforts to improve teaching and learning. Information from the assessment is also utilized for promotion/retention purposes. Students will participate in specific content area assessments based on grade levels.
Important Information about Testing:
In an effort to accommodate testing times, the lunch schedules will be adjusted for all students on the testing days. Please also note that in order to have an optimal testing environment for all of our students, no one will be allowed in testing areas once testing begins each morning at 8:15am. Once a testing session has started, students may not be admitted to the classroom. Please assist us in our efforts to create an environment conducive for testing by:
- Arranging your schedule so that your child gets a good night’s sleep and a nutritious
breakfast
- Having your child present for school as well as on time for each day of testing
- Encouraging your child to do his or her best
Thank you so much for all of the ways that you support Poplar Road. If you have questions or would like additional information, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher or our administrative staff.
