Pershing Updates

May 25, 2020

Good Evening Pershing Families,

I hope this message finds you and your family doing well this Memorial Day, as we honor those who served our country and made the greatest of sacrifices. It is a time for us to pause and be thankful for all we have, even in this time of challenge and unknown.

We are nearing ever closer to the end of school and official beginning of summer break for our Pershing students and staff. Please keep encouraging your children to continue to do their learning with their teachers on Google Classroom, in See Saw and in their Zoom meetings. We know it has been difficult, so continue to let us know how we can help support you and your child. We know that flexibility is key for meeting student's needs, so please let me know if there is anything we can do differently to help support your child in his or her learning. I will keep encouraging our staff to keep at it, too! This way of teaching has involved a big shift in our approach, huge learning curves for many, and we appreciate your grace and support.

As District Leaders work closely on possible formats for school learning to next fall, we are also working with them on plans for families to pick-up student personal items, pick-up yearbooks, and return library books, text books and Chromebooks. Students who borrowed a Chromebook are expected to return it to the school before summer break. It is looking very likely that this will occur within the last two days of school, June 8th and/or 9th. When I am able to share more details, I will send this out to all families and teachers will repeat the message, as well, on their own newsletters, Class Dojo and email messages.

Yearbooks: Yearbooks are being mailed to my home first and have not yet shipped. Due to COVID-19, we are waiting to see when they will be shipped. I will keep families and staff updated as information is made available. In the meantime, if you forgot to order a yearbook, you may reserve your yearbook by completing this form:

Enrollment: We have had some families confused about enrollment for next year. Typically, for those who live in our boundaries, nothing is needed to enroll for next year. One way to verify is to sign into your account on the Portal at:

Your child's enrollment information should show for 2020-2021. If you have questions, you can email any of our office staff, or me, and we can assist. Some students who attended Pershing this year due to an "overload" typically end up returning to their school of residence for the next year. To make changes, parents need to contact Central Enrollment.
