Reading & Math News:
Reading groups will begin Monday, September 22. Your child will bring the same book home each night. Please make sure they are reading it. After they read, please ask them about the book. We will be working on comprehension and other skills throughout the week with the book.
We have been working on the concept of one more or one less in math. I will be sending home a hundreds chart. Please take a few minutes each day to work on this skill. All you need to do is say a number, have them identify the number on the chart, and tell you what one more or one less would be. You could extend this by asking them what would 10 more be or 10 less be. The hundreds chart is a great tool to get them to increase their number sense.
