Developing a Team

The boys basketball team had a unique experience this past summer to develop their 2014-15 basketball team. What they have named a Traveling Team Camp, the boys traveled to various leagues and gyms across the Northwest Missouri area to play basketball games.

Between the basketball games the team enjoyed some remarkable experiences. The Army National Gaurd conducted an afternoon of intense team building. In this training, the players learned about various personalities and how to use differences to strengthen the team. Paintball guns, military strategies, and conquering obstacles are just some of the other lessons the team learned as well.

The players also got to make a stop by Coach Jermain's hometown of Conception Junction, Missouri. A rural family farm setting allowed the players to take the time to make connections with one another. Just some of the ways and experiences included, camp fires, camping out in the open air, driving large farm machinery, and fishing.

Ben Harris said of the Traveling Team Camp, "it was the best team bondings I have ever experienced."

Let the Games Begin!

Games have begun for every level except the varsity. The varsity will take on Pleasant Hill this Friday night in the Panther's home opener.

The JV started their season playing in the Harrisonville Tournament. They brought home a second place finish!
