We're Growing Great Leaders!

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to a new school year! We are excited to start a new year with you. Miss Goss and I are looking forward to getting to know you and your child in the weeks ahead. Please read below to find out more about a few of the things to come.

Boosterthon!

This year our PTO is getting started with our Boosterthon fundraiser right out of the gate. Our goal is to raise enough funds to be able to fund our 2013-2014 expenses without having to do many additional fundraisers. Please be on the look out for your child's fundraising packet so that your family can help us reach our fundraising goals.

Our First Week of First Grade

During our first week of school we will be very busy! Please take note of the fliers you recieved in your childs registration packet on Thursday night. These give you more specific information. Our Calendar of Events section will give you a listing of when to bring these items at a glance. We will begin the week learning about the Wren Way. This is a positive behavior iniative that teaches students what is expected of them during their days here at Wren Elementary. You will find a Wren Way Matrix in your childs STAR book that will come home this week. This gives you more information about the expectations in each area of our school. We will also spend a great deal of time getting to know each other. Your child will be sharing their favorite book and a "Me Bag" with their first grade friends. This will be a chance for them to make connections with others in our classroom. We will also begin learning about how our normal school day will go. Students will learn about our workshop setting. We will being to explore reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Please make sure to attend Thursday evenings parent orientation meeting. This will give you more information and allow you to ask questions about our classroom this year.
