Message from the Principal
Clara Love Families,
As we head into the final leg of the first semester, I cannot help but see the tremendous growth our students have made thus far this year. Writing and reading continues to be an instructional focus, and it is evident in class discussions and students’ work that hard work and perseverance is paying off!
You may have heard about “Lexia” from your child or his/her teacher. This online program is helping students in K-5 fine-tune skills that allow them to become stronger readers. Your child was placed on a particular level based on an individualized placement test in November. Each child is given a required number of minutes to work on Lexia lessons each week and, obviously, the more they are on, the more they learn!
While this week holds many exciting events to celebrate the season, please know that learning continues to be a focus! A common misconception is missing school is okay because we are only focused on the fun. Yes, we have fun, but we continue to put a strong emphasis on academics.
Thank you for a wonderful first semester. We get such joy out of working with your children, and we look forward to an even better second half of the school year!
Happy Holidays!
