Wrightstown Ravens' News
March 4, 2022
Dear Wrightstown Families,
What a fun week celebrating reading! From spirit themed days, mystery readers, outdoor story walks, and parent flip grid videos, the week was filled with lots of reading and excitement! Be sure to ask your children about it!
On behalf of the WES Staff, I would like to extend our appreciation for the PTO's continued generosity and support. This week the PTO provided a plastic tote of snacks and bottled water to each homeroom teacher. These donations will be helpful for any student that forgets their snack or water. The next PTO Meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 7th at 9:10 am in the Library. We hope you can join us.
Lastly, if you pick up in the car rider line in the afternoon you most likely noticed that a few police officers from Newtown Township were on-site, directing cars. They shared with us their concern about the number of cars picking up from school that are lined up on Penns Park Road. They will continue to be on-site during afternoon pick-up to determine if doubling the car line in the parking lot helps alleviate their concern. Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we work through this process.
Please remember that Friday, March 11th is an early dismissal day for students. Dismissal is at 12:15 PM and AM (Morning) Kindergarten attends.
I wish everyone a wonderful weekend!
Beth

LITERACY CORNER WITH MRS. ETGEN
This past week was an amazing celebration of reading! Check out the pictures above for a snapshot of our celebrations! A big thank you to all parents who shared a read aloud in our FlipGrid link - the children enjoyed listening to your stories! The children were able to share their favorite book characters, their cultural backgrounds, as well as their dreams and aspirations, all through celebrating reading. They were even able to have an outdoor Story Walk during recess! Most importantly, students had the opportunity to see how reading is so pertinent across all subjects and all careers. Let’s face it, children want to emulate the grown-ups in their lives. When they see an adult reading, it becomes a natural thing that they will copy. So continue the celebration of reading in your home just as we did all week - make some time for family reading time. It will definitely be time well spent!

Newest Guidelines
“Effective February 25, 2022, CDC is exercising its enforcement discretion to not require that people wear masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems, including early care and education/child care programs. CDC is making this change to align with updated guidance that no longer recommends universal indoor mask wearing in K-12 schools and early education settings in areas with a low or medium COVID-19 Community Level. School systems at their discretion may choose to require that people wear masks on buses or vans.”
Effective immediately, Council Rock students and students using Council Rock transportation will no longer be required to wear masks on buses or vans. Students may continue to wear masks optionally as per a family’s decision.
