Sunday - September 15
Director's Notes
Happy Sunday PMB Families!
First off, THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this past week successful! Thank you to the parents who helped get equipment loaded in the rain while we kept the kids safely inside. (What a memorable night.) Thank you to the parents who donated water and snacks! Thank you to the pit crew parents who helped move equipment and hold props at the competition! We are accomplishing things that have never been done before and that wouldn't be possible without the support of so many WONDERFUL BAND PARENTS!!!
A GIANT thank you to the students for busting their butts to create such a strong performance with such little rehearsal time. We are on the brink of something incredible! And even more thanks to the student leaders who are growing into their leadership roles and taking on the responsibilities necessary to ensure EVERY member succeeds in all that we do.
I was saying all week that we were "banding at full throttle" and it has paid off. The band staff and I felt that the performance the kids delivered on Saturday was our strongest first performance ever. Everything we wanted to happen on the field did and the judges saw what we wanted them to and rewarded us approp. The band staff did attend critique and got some great feedback from many of the judges. They judges LOVEEE the show design and think the show has a lot of potential to be a very beautiful product by the end of the season!
We now look on to a calmer week with our Wellington rivals coming to BR for this weeks football game and the JB Firestone cross country meet held at BR on Saturday. I am extending our rehearsals on Monday and Wednesday by 30 minutes in an effort to finish the show and get a re-write in so that we can give an even stronger performance at OSU in two weeks. So please plan on rehearsals being 5pm-8pm this week and probably next week.

OSU Invitational Preliminary Info
Below is a snapshot of the most important information regarding the OSU Invitational:
Report Time - 6:00am
Performance Time - 10:15am
Returning Home / Student Pick Up
This is a VERY different competition day than we have ever had before. Because of the nature of this invitational we are NOT going to stay the entire day. The exception to that is Sarah Powell and some select seniors. IF families would like to stay longer, parents will have the option to sign their student out at the stadium. All students will be bringing home an OSU Form with what their plans for the show will be.
The form will have 3 options:
1 - returning on bus (return time 5pm)
2 - being signed out by their legal guardian (return at your leisure)
3 - senior staying the entire day (return time 12am or later)
Lunch
Students will need to bring money for lunch to eat at the stadium after we perform.
