This Sunday's Message: Faith & Autism with Ron Sandison
This Sunday's Scriptures: Psalm 4 & Acts 3:11-21
From the desk of Pastor Paul...
Dear Friends,
Congratulations go out to the Snyder family as daughter Kirsten and her husband, Matt Williams welcomed Hudson into the world at 4:48 a.m. Friday morning – 8 lbs. 1 oz. and 20 inches long! Mother and son are doing well…not sure about the grandparents?! Blessings to the Snyder clan as they celebrate this new blessing together!
April is Autism Awareness Month. As we all know, this aspect of our lives and world has become a major focus in recent years. This Sunday we will welcome Ron Sandison to our worship service as he shares about his journey with both autism and faith in Jesus Christ. He has shared his story at churches and on media outlets throughout the Metro Detroit area. Here is a brief bio from Ron’s website:
Ron Sandison works full time in the medical field and is a professor of theology at Destiny School of Ministry. He is an advisory board member of Autism Society Faith Initiative. Sandison has a Master of Divinity from Oral Roberts University, and Charisma House has published his book entitled, A Parent’s Guide to Autism: Practical Advice. Biblical Wisdom. He has over 10,000 Scriptures memorized including 22 complete books of the New Testament. Ron and his wife, Kristen, reside in Rochester Hills, MI, with their pet rabbit, Babs, and cat, Frishma.
You can also read about his story on his website www.spectruminclusion.com. It’s a fascinating journey! Ron will have copies of his book mentioned above available for sale on Sunday.
With Ron as our special speaker, we will have only one worship service Sunday at 10:30 a.m. I hope you’ll join us – and invite those you know who are impacted by autism in their family circles – to be with us as well on Sunday!
See you Sunday,
Pastor Paul

We invite anyone interested in learning more about Stephen Ministry to join us in Heritage Hall on Thursday, April 19th at 7pm so you can “Meet the Stephen Ministry.”
We will share background about Stephen Ministry, hear from current Stephen Ministers about their connection with Stephen Ministry, and provide written information for any who might want to consider being trained as a new Stephen Minister. No obligation in attending…just come and learn more about our Stephen Ministry!
If you’re not sure who the OLCC,P Stephen Ministers are, see their pictures in the Narthex on the far wall.
Kids in Mission!
Last Sunday we were excited to welcome OLCC,P’s own missionaries, Cari and Andy Robertson and their son, Tony, to Kid’s World. They shared experiences of their work in Chad, Africa and told of a need that we can actually HELP with!
Please consider donating new pens and TUMS packages. Both have a story. . .children in Chad often go to school in classrooms of up to 100 children per teacher. They must bring a pen with them, or they are brought to the front of the classroom, shamed, and sent home.
They often also come to school with hungry tummies. TUMS help soothe that, and allow them to better focus, without the discomfort of hunger pangs.
Please consider donating. There is a basket on the Kid’s World desk, just inside the east entrance. We will be collecting these items through May. Thank you!!
Find out what OLCC,P is all about!
We are providing informational sessions known as Inquirer’s Pilgrimage: A New Member Series for Adults. These sessions, on April 22, 29 and May 6, provide the chance to explore basic teachings of the Christian faith and to learn more about OLCC,P. If, after the 3rd session, you decide to become an OLCC,P member you can do so on Sunday, May 20. Each session runs from 11:45am - 1pm. (Look for the informational brochure found on the Welcome Desk at the top of the stairs.)

Rebuilding Together ~ Saturday, April 28
This is a national event that is held every year which typically involves painting, repairing, cleaning, landscaping, whatever needs to be done for a senior or someone who can't do the work on their own. We need a crew of 50-75 to help make this successful. To be a part of this activity, please register at the OLCC,P team link.
Saturday, May 5
Please set aside an hour or two (or more, if you can) from 8a - 1p to help trim, rake, or weed our beautiful grounds. This is a fun time for all ages and a perfect opportunity for youth to gain community hours. Any time spent helping is greatly appreciated!
