ZB Parent Bulletin
A message from the Principal...
Hello parents and families of District 126!
With the shift to digital testing, schools will now need to complete a digital readiness check with their students before test day. In these sessions, students will get familiar with the Bluebook™ testing application, confirm their personal information is correct, and verify that their devices are ready for test day.
On Wednesday, October 11th, our students will participate in this digital readiness check. The school day will run on a 1:51 PM schedule but from 1:56 to 2:38 PM students will go to their actual testing room where they will engage in the digital readiness check. Please ensure your student comes to school to be prepared for this assessment.
On Oct 13th, our school will participate in our Fall Pep Rally. Students will be dismissed at 12:40 PM. Students will have the option to go home at 12:40 pm if they do not wish to engage in the Pep Rally and buses will be available. They will also have the option to participate and stay for the pep rally as buses will come for pick up at our regular 2:38 PM pick up time.
With Zee-Bee Pride,
Mr. Zackary Livingston
Principal
No School - October 9, 2023
District-Wide Assessment Day
October 18, 2023 is a distinct-wide assessment day. Attendance is mandatory for all Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors who will be taking a version of the PSAT Test. Seniors should not report to school and are encouraged to use this day to explore future college and career options.
For family planning purposes, the day will begin with regular bus runs and a start time of 7:50am similar to a regular school day. The tests are approximately 2 hours long. We will be releasing students early and transporting them home with busses. We anticipate the test to end and busses to take students home upon completion.
Student Handbook
Zion-Benton Township High School has clear expectations for student success and behavior. These expectations can be found in our student handbook that every student/family acknowledged receipt of during the registration process. The electronic version can be found on our website using this link: Student Handbook
The safety of our students and staff is the number one priority in District 126. Student conduct plays a role in ensuring that our building is safe. Attendance and adherence to all of the procedures outlined in the student handbook is vital. Please make sure students are dropped off in time to get to class by 7:50 AM. Drinks and food are not allowed for tardy students. Hats, Hood, and sunglasses are prohibited from being worn inside of the building. Accumulation of violations could result in loss of social privileges afforded at school functions.
ZB Girls' Volleyball Gives Back
On Wednesday, Sept. 27th, our girls’ volleyball team hosted Waukegan for their “Give Back” game where they donate all proceeds to a local charity. This year they selected the City Of Hope hospital here in town to assist those battling cancer. The event was a huge success and raised around $1,550 for the organization. Our athletes, coaches, and parents came together for an amazing night and showed our community what our Zee-Bees are all about.
