A Special Thank you...

Thank you for coming to our special show on Memory Day. The children were so excited to share all their favorite moments with you. I truly appreciate your kind words and support throughout the school year. Now it's time to finish this year strong!

All ready for Hula Day!

Hula Day

Today your child participated in outdoor games, dancing, bubbles, chalk drawings, a craft, and a special snack! Our class loved spending most of the morning outside to celebrate a school year of great PAWS behavior.

Writing this Week

In the creative writing center this week, your child invented a fish. They drew their fish, and then described how it looked and if it could do anything special. They loved listening to their friends share their illustrations and read their writing.

Phonics

We had fun with consonant digraphs this week! We focused on the /sh/ and /ch/ digraph. We created a list of words that began and ended with each digraph, and then your child chose some words to use in their journal writing. We even had a /ch/ birthday celebration - Trevor brought in munCHkins, and tropical punCH juice!

Math

Wow, what a fun hands on week we had in math! We started the week with comparing weight. We used a scale and the following vocabulary words - heavier, lighter, equal, and balance. Your child also drew a picture of two objects, and identified the object that was heavier and lighter.

Objectives this week...

  • Use attributes to describe different objects.
  • Use words to describe how an object can be measured.
  • Solve math problems about objects with measurable attributes by using precision.
