Ze Legislative Branch
The Legislative Branch makes laws for the government. There are two other branches also, the Executive and Judicial Branches. They all keep balance under the checks and balance system. They can overpower the Executive Branch, but the Judicial Branch can overpower them.
What is the Legislative Branch made of?
The Legislative Branch is made up of the senate and the House of Representatives. The House of Representatives is made of 435 elected members. Members of the house are elected every two years. You must be 25 years of age to be a representative. From each state there are 2 senators representing our country. =]
Powers and Responsibilities of The Legislative Branch
The Legislative Branch makes laws. The senate approves many of the decisions the president makes. The Senate approves the members of the presidents cabinet. Congress has some power in foreign affairs, or the business that the United States conducts with other countries. We are the only branch that can start a war against foreign countries!
