General News
I think we are finally seeing some signs of Spring around here. While I would like to see a little more sunshine and feel a few degrees warmer, I do enjoy seeing buds on trees, green returning to my yard, and shoots in my flower beds. This week we have been looking and talking about signs of Spring. We have begun our plant unit as well. We will continue exploring plant parts, needs, and how they fit in our environment next week.
Snack calendars came home in the folders today.
Next week is Autism Awareness week.
Theme days are....
Monday- Tie Dye Day
Tuesday- Wear your favorite team/jersey day
Wednesday- Wacky Wednesday
Thursday- PJ Day
Friday- Superhero or Princess Day
Literacy
Writing workshop- We have started writing persuasive books or stories. We are trying to think of ways to make the world a better place. The first step is to determine what the problem is. They are very good at identifying the injustices of the world. Next we are working on convincing the reader that the identified problem really is a problem. Next week we will continue to write reasons to support our opinions. The kids are doing a great job. Everyone was able to think of a problem this week and most are well on their way to coming up with multiple reasons to support it.
Math
This week we looked at math facts with 10. We had so much fun playing Go Fish with a twist. Instead of asking for a matching card, they had to ask for a card that would make 10 with one in their hand.
