LHS Weekly Update #11
October 9, 2020
Quarter ends Oct. 16
Next week is the LAST week of quarter 1 with final exams on Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16. Students WILL have scheduled classes on Wednesday, October 14th to give them one more opportunity to review material with their teachers.
Grades
At the secondary school level course grades will be reported with the standard letter scale. The exception may be if your student has received an NG. The NG or “No Grade” indicates that there is no data to support issuing a letter grade for the course. NG grades do not earn credit or count in GPA calculation. If the course is required for graduation, that means your student will have to re-take the course to meet the requirement.
October 16 is the end of quarter 1. At this time, high school students in the Blended/In-Person schedule will earn semester credit for their three courses.
Full time eLearning students are taking 6 classes on a semester schedule, so will receive quarter grades but continue and finish their courses on December 18.
Schoolboard Decision on In-Person School
At the October 6 meeting, the board of education voted to begin in-person school in a 50% cohort model at all our high schools when we are in the Yellow Operational Zone. We are currently in the red zone and will continue to operate under our remote schedule. You can view the current Operational Risk Zone and the Average Case Rate Matrix on the district website.
There is a wealth of information in Dr. Gaborik's Oct. 8th newsletter and I encourage you to take some time to read through it. I will be working through all the details on what the 50% model will look like at Lathrop and will share that information when we get closer to a yellow risk zone. Feel free to email or call me with any questions.

To see quarter 2 classes at this time, you will need to use the Powerschool App. You can also email your school counselor for this information. Note that many classes are "yearlong" so will continue into quarter 2.
Lathrop HS has scheduled 4 days to safely complete this textbook swap:

Students will be entering the school through the Front Office doors (by the big purple LHS letters) and check in with the front desk.
