Welcome to our second semester of the 19-20 school year. I am just returning from a JTerm trip with some of our 8th graders at the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. It was such a reminder to me of the grace that God gives us every day. It was a privilege to spend the days with those students who asked the best questions and soaked up the trip. If you and your family have not gone it would be time well spent. Here is the LINK to the Creation Museum website.
Make sure that you check report cards that were ready last Friday and speak to your child's teacher if you have any questions.
I am praying in this second semester a verse from Ephesians 3:20 which says, "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us."

Upper School Science Fair
It is with excitement that we announce the opportunity for students to participate in an Upper School Science Fair!
The website below contains the parameters set forth by the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). We will follow these guidelines so that any High School project that qualifies is eligible to attend the regional fair for 9th-12th grades held at UTC in March 2020. UTC will announce the specific date for this regional fair later. Middle School submissions follow the same guidelines and prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place at SBA.
As we promote hands-on and project-based learning, students have endless options to research a topic of their choice and to share their findings with others. We also want to foster a love of science and to encourage our students to ask hard questions and explore the Creation around them.
Once you visit the website, you will see a list of categories and subcategories. Students are encouraged to find a topic of interest to them and begin as soon as possible! The science teachers are here to guide and answer questions, but not to assist with the completion of any project.

All Science Fair participants should be prepared to show their final project to the public Tuesday, March 3, 2020. We will have guest judges to assist in determining our winners!
All details will be communicated closer to mid-February as dates, locations, and participants are determined for both SBA presentation and UTC competition.

New Date for our Parent Prayer Group Beginning on Friday, January 31st
Come join us at the Parent Prayer Group every week beginning on Friday, January 31st between 8:00am - 9:00am in the Atlee Room at the Shepherd's House. You are welcome to drop in for as long as you can. If you have small children, no problem. Please feel free to bring them!
This group will be praying specifically for our Academy, Staff, Faculty, students, and parents. This time is dedicated to encouragement and prayer. This ministry is coordinated through the PTF.

CONTINUOUS ENROLLMENT NOTIFICATION
Your child is now conveniently re-enrolled each year without lifting a finger. Should anything change, all you need to do is schedule an appointment with your child’s principal and complete a withdrawal form before March 15th.
The $240 re-enrollment fee will be billed to your account annually on March 16th.
Tuition will automatically be billed via FACTS.
Failure to withdraw before March 15th will incur a 50% charge of the upcoming school year’s tuition.

High School Girls and Boys Tennis will have an interest meeting on January 14th, 3:15 in Room 1. Tryouts will be held January 23rd & 24th, from 3:45-5:15 at Chattanooga State. For any questions, please contact Coach Standefer

Winter Sports Pictures
Winter Sports (Basketball, Elementary Cheerleading) pictures are scheduled for January 22nd, immediately after school for Middle School. All pictures will take place in the Upper Gym. Order forms will go home with your player early next week. Please contact your coach with any questions.

Middle School Volleyball Tryouts (6th-8th grade girls)
Saturday, January 18th
12:00PM-2:00PM 6th, 7th and 8th grade
Players must attend at least one tryout date.
It is preferred if they are able to attend both tryouts.
