Flipgrid Pals
First Grade: First graders are kicking off some research as well, starting with the BIG QUESTION.....WHAT IS UNDER THE SCHOOL??? Students worked together in collaborative groups to make large scale drawings of their predictions of what can be found under the school. We will continue to look further into this by checking out some awesome books and online resources as well as learning more about animals that live underground!
Second Grade: Second graders are making global connections with students in Wisconsin through a program called FlipGrid Pals! We have connected with three other third grade classes through a website called FlipGrid that allows the students to communicate via videos they record using the Chromebooks in class! We can't wait to learn more about our pals up North!

Culture Grams
4th Grade: 4th graders have been in research mode over the past several weeks. First up, College Research! Students each chose a college to learn more about. They they created a Google Slide to represent their school and share information about it with their class. During this process we talked about what makes a slide look professional versus sloppy. Next up, we have started into State Research. Students recently learned about online resources and ebooks from Epic books to help them find their information.

Growth Mindset
6th Grade: 6th grade did some review lessons on Digital Citizenship using Google's Be Internet Awesome. They also participated in a growth mindset activity to help think about how they can continue to have a growth mindset as they start looking ahead to junior high. We will be taking their growth mindset idea and applying it to a poster project where students will be using Canva to design posters using quotes that inspire them. We will also be working on their video for graduation!
