Why Tweet?

It is imperative that educators remain relevant is today's technologically driven society. Twitter allows educators a way to communicate about education and obtain timely information with educators and content area experts around the globe....instantly! Whether you are a new teacher in need of a mentor or coach, or a 20-year veteran teacher looking for new and exciting ways to teach the Pythagorean theorem, the "Twitterverse" has something for every educator.

Twitter for Teachers

I've Been Invited to a "Tweet Chat!" Now What????

A tweet chat is a live Twitter event, usually moderated and focused around a general topic. To filter all the chatter on Twitter into a single conversation a hashtag is used. A set time is also established so that the moderator, guest or host is available to engage in the conversation. - Forbes.com, 2013

To participate in a live Tweet Chat, you will need to know the time (make sure you have the correct time zone) and the hashtag for the chat (#kinderchat, for example). You can still view tweets associated with the chat asynchronously by searching for the designated hashtag anytime after the chat.
