State Testing on Monday (3/13) and Tuesday (3/14)
- On Monday 3/13 and Tuesday 3/14 BGHS will run an alternate bell schedule for the English portion of the Smarter Balanced assessment.
- All 10th grade students will be testing; some 11th and 12th grade students will be asked to test if they have not previously passed the test. They will be notified by their teacher and receive a reminder.
- Busses will run at regular times. Zero period will begin at its regular time, and we will provide supervision in the cafeteria for those students that are not testing and arrive before first period.
- CASEE students will be bussed to CASEE on their assigned days (Periods 1-3 on Monday and Periods 4-6 on Tuesday). Students who ride the bus to their home high school will be supervised until buses leave for CASEE. Cascadia Tech buses will run on their regular schedule.
Please email Julie Main at main.juliene@battlegroundps.org with questions.
Here are some reasons that students should do their very best on this test:
It is a state-mandated graduation requirement.
It satisfies a graduation pathway requirement.
It helps to determine placement in your next math and English course.
Scoring above the cut score can help a student recover credit in English and math.
Scoring above the cut score can count as a placement test for local community colleges.
Bus Notes
Please email bus notes to bghs.busnotes@battlegroundps.org
It’s very important that parents or guardians are the ones sending these notes.
Also if your student brings a hand written note that it is also written by a parent or guardian.
We appreciate everyone's help getting students where they are supposed to be.

At this time, students should have completed their forecasting for the 23-24 year. All students are now locked out of forecasting and must go through their counselor for any changes or questions. Please remember, this is a big deal! BG Admin will start building the master schedule and once that starts students will not be able to adjust their courses. Ask your student what they forecasted for!
