Important Dates and Enrollment Information

Thank you for your interest in North Star Academy.


  • Students MUST be enrolled in Tulsa Public Schools before they apply to North Star Academy. Families can enroll their children from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays at the Tulsa Public Schools Enrollment Center; or online at www.tulsaschools.org/enroll.
  • Students applying must have reliable internet.
  • Students must attend an in-person orientation: orientations are held on Wednesdays from AT 2:00. After the initial orientation students, online students may work from home or attend in-person. TPS transportation is available.
  • Students must complete an intake form and agree to a contract. (see contract agreements below)

  • NSA is an extremely inclusive school: I agree to reject all forms of prejudice and discrimination, including but not limited to those based on age, color, disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, and veteran status.

  • I will ONLY use Tulsa Public School student email accounts for communications with teachers; no personal emails

  • I will sign up for their advisors REMIND application.

  • I agree to the NSA Attendance Policy and I understand I may be dropped from NSA if I do not uphold this agreement.

  • I will complete all school work and do their personal best.

  • I will not plagiarize.

  • I will attend additional or group sessions as assigned by my advisor.

  • I will avoid violence, hate, profanity, or vulgarity.

  • I will not possess or use alcohol, drugs, or tobacco on school property or before I attend school.

  • I will not bring any weapons or anything that resembles a weapon to school.

  • I will respect other students, faculty, staff, and myself.

  • I will follow the school dress code.

  • I will set positive goals for myself and will take steps to reach them.

  • I will read the Friday Newsletter so I am aware of school events, testing dates, and announcements.

  • I understand that failure to honor this contract may result in my removal from North Star Academy.

Two Very Different Programs

North Star Academy offers Online and In-Person Project Based Learning.


ONLINE LEARNING

Students work on a digital device through a program called Edmentum. Students have the flexibility of time and place. They can work when they want and where they want. Certified teachers are available to help students in-person, or via zoom, phone, or email.


  • Students receive an individual pace to help them reach their graduation goals.
  • Students complete one class at a time.


North Star Academy accepts students all throughout the year and the application is available on the North Star Academy website.


BEYOND PROJECT BASED LEARNING

Our Beyond Program is launching into its 4th year for the 22-23 school year. This year we will have our first graduating class! The Beyond Program is Project Based Learning boasting smaller class sizes, relevant learning and cooperative learning. We focus on developing students' 21st Century Skills of creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking. Furthermore, students will learn some important life skills such as nutrition, cooking, personal financial literacy, gardening, computer science, and basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Our teachers are passionate about fostering positive relationships with students and families and providing engaging real-life lessons for students.

Location

North Star Academy is located at the Alcott Building at 525 East 46th St North, Tulsa, OK. This new space will provide room for project learning and access to a cafeteria and gymnasium. Furthermore, the location has an extensive school yard for room to engage in outdoor activities.
