Artful Learning Highlights!
7th Grade students created a page within their digital portfolio to chronicle their journey through the Transformation Artful Learning Unit. On this page, students reflected on each of the steps within the unit to include: concept exploration, masterwork experience, inquiry centers, original creation, and reflection. You will see students discuss what they learned about the concept of Transformation, its relevance through art, and how it can be applied to our novel study. Each student designed an original creation using oil pastels to express their understanding of the significant question that drove the unit. Creating this digital portfolio is truly a powerful way for students to demonstrate not only what they learned, but the process they undertook to gain this knowledge.

Health and Safety Update: COVID-19
Reminder: I know that everyone is concerned about the Coronavirus and that there continue to be developments each day. The district has been proactive and is working closely with the county to stay updated and monitor the progression of this situation. I also understand that you get questions and that you want to share information to be helpful.
Please know that we have a very clear process that is required for vetting communication that is shared with students and families through the county office. If you feel compelled to share any information, you can forward Dr. Doyle's letter (attached HERE) since that has gone through the appropriate approval process. This letter was sent to all VUSD families on 3/5/20. Please do not send out any other information as it has not gone through the required procedure and vetting process for approval. I will continue to keep you updated as I receive any new information. Please let me know if you have any questions.
