This week, we will receive confirmation of our support staff locations for September. We are all keeping our fingers and toes crossed that our amazing team continues with us once again!
Report cards and next year's teacher
Report cards and teacher's names will be available after 3pm on Tuesday, June 29th. Please be aware that report cards cannot be accessed on a mobile device. Please see the information below about how to access all these important documents.
If you have any issues accessing either of these documents, please contact Mrs. E. in the office.
Technology Drop Off
As we prepare for both in-school and Virtual School in September, it is imperative that any technology (e.g., Chromebooks, internet devices and ALL power cords) is returned to schools. Please note that if your child has a Special Education computer assigned to them, then this does not apply. Students with SEA Chromebooks can bring them back to school when we return in September.
If you are retrieving your child’s belongings from the school on your scheduled time on June 28th and wish to return your borrowed technology before June 30th, we will be happy to receive it. That way you only have one trip to the school.
If you would like to keep the technology through the last day of school (Tuesday June 29th) then please arrange to drop off your child’s loaned technology to the school by June 30th at 3:00 p.m.
When you arrive at the school, please ring the doorbell and someone will provide you with further directions. We appreciate your support in helping us to prepare for school re-opening.
Transitions
Some of the resources we are anticipating offering to students and families, include:
- video book tour of staff and our building
- instructional videos about any protocols that will need to still be in place in September (if necessary)
- arranging visits to the classroom/homeroom teacher before the first day of school for any student who requires the additional support.
Stay tuned - more information will come in mid to late August.
Picking up belongings and saying goodbye....
We are excited to be sharing our Kawartha Heights plan for the pick up of student belongings and a chance to say “goodbye”. Please see the flyer below and make sure you save the date!
For families who cannot stop by on June 28th, we will still be available at the school through July 5th for pick up of items. Just come to the front door and buzz and we'll bring your child's belongings to you.
Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions!
If by any chance you have a large canopy tent (the size that a large folding table could fit under) that we could borrow - please let me know. It the day is as hot as they've been, we want to make sure all our staff our safe and cool. I'm happy to pick it up and return it to your when we're done.
We look forward to seeing everyone on June 28th.

KPR NEWS
Elementary Report Cards & Summer Learning
Elementary families will be able to access their children’s report cards on Edsby by the end of the day on Monday, June 28.
KPR will be offering a virtual Summer Learning Program focusing on reading and math for current Grades 1, 2, 3, and 6 students who are finding these subjects a struggle. The program is designed specifically for students whose learning is below their grade level; interested families should contact their child’s principal to obtain support for their application. A Summer Learning Program is also being offered for students currently in Grades 7 and 8 who are finding math a struggle and who would benefit from spending time on math skills as they head toward the de-streamed Grade 9 math curriculum. Similarly, the school principal will need to support the application.
Elementary summer programs will be virtual, with a combination of online synchronous learning (live interaction with the teacher) and asynchronous learning (work posted online for completion at any time). The programs will run from July 5 to 23, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. For information, please contact your principal.
Secondary Report Cards & Quadmesters
Secondary report cards will be available via Edsby by July 7; however, students at risk of not completing courses successfully will have already heard from teachers, and will have the opportunity to participate in credit completion days June 28-29.
Secondary Summer School registration will close on July 2, and the courses will run July 5-30. The Summer School web page has details.
Next school year, new quadmesters will start on September 7, November 11, February 1 and April 21.
Youth Vaccinations
This week and next, our local public health partners are holding youth-focused immunization clinics for those aged 12-17. Details on booking vaccinations in our public health regions, including updated information on youth only clinics are available here.
The government also has a dedicated webpage on booking and preparing for vaccination appointments. It outlines the province’s plan for youth vaccinations, answers questions about safety and effectiveness, and provides links to external sites for more information.
