Every Tray Counts
Have you noticed anything new in the cafeteria recently? We have new compostable trays for our served lunches. It's part of a Wake County initiative to make Every Tray Count!
Read about it in this News & Observer article.
From the OCE Wellness Committee: Exercising When It's Hot Outside
written by your OCE Wellness Committee Student Representatives, Madison Washam and Nick Krauss
Is it too hot outside to go play? Well, set up an indoor obstacle of course! You may use items like pool noodles, floaties, beach balls, or mostly anything you can find in your house to go in an obstacle course. Make your own designs, have your own ideas.
Even if you don’t want to make an obstacle course, you can still be active inside. Here are some other things to do in your air-conditioned home to stay cool and still be healthy.
1. Run up and down your stairs.
2. Do push ups, and sit ups.
3. Use a treadmill if you have one.
4. Do jumping jacks or run in place.
Remember to get at least 30 minutes of exercise each day. But most importantly have fun and get creative with it!

Food 4 Kids
Here is an ongoing way for OCE Families and the community to support Food 4 Kids. We have set up a CheddarUp account so monetary donations can be made throughout the year. Click here to donate.
If you would still like to send in items, the Food 4 Kids collection bin is right outside the front office and is in constant need of Publix Gift Cards, Canned Meats (Tuna, Chicken), Beans (canned or dried), Rice (small bags), Soup or Ramen Noodles, Mac & Cheese, and individually bagged snacks (Goldfish, Pretzels, Raisins).
Again, the Food 4 Kids program provides back packs of food each Friday for OCE students in need to help them through the weekend.
Thank you for continuing to support our OCE community.
