Alief Libraries Are Everywhere
Alief Libraries During Virtual Learning
One may have thought that the libraries closed when the schools closed back in March. But no, the librarians were busier than ever this spring. Here is just some of what Alief Librarians did to support equity, digital resource aquisition and robust learning duiring the Virtual Learning initiative.
- Librarians opened virtual help desks to answer troubleshooting calls from parents, students and staff.
- Librarians and Library ParaProfessionals read stories to classes via Zoom.
- Librarians coordinated virtual field trips for teachers and students.
- Librarians held virtual open libraries for students during Ramadan.
- Librarians helped students, staff and parents navigate the world of eBooks, databases, and electronic resources.
- Librarians held live MakerSpace classes for teachers and students.
- Librarians assisted instructors in creating lessons with engaging content for students.
